Pirbright - Alexander and Elizabeth Barracks
Pirbright is situated in a rural area with the Basingstoke canal running along side it. The nearest towns are Woking and Guildford both approx 6 miles away.
Pirbright is a Training Depot for Phase 1 recruits (Army Training Regiment), and is also home to the Resident Unit who are the Royal Anglians.
ATC (Pirbright) delivers Phase 1 Training for new recruits joining:Army Air Corps, Royal Regiment of Artillery, Royal Corps of Signals, Royal Logistic Corps, Adjutant General's Corps, Royal Army Medical Corps, Intelligence Corps and all female adult entry soldiers.
Alexander Barracks has a spar shop, gym, swimming pool, squash courts, football/rugby pitches, running pitches, barbers, adult learning centre, Sandes coffee shop, stables, nursery and medical centre. ATR have an Officers, WO's & Sgts and Cpls Messes. The recruits have a WRVS centre, which has internet facility as well as pool tables, quiet room and cinema.
Elizabeth Barracks is a separate camp and is within the ATR camp for the resident Unit, the Royal Anglians, they have their own gym, squash courts, football pitch, internet suite and Naafi.
The accommodation for single serving soldiers is Grade 4 Barrack Blocks.
Bus and Rail: There is a regular bus service to most of the surrounding towns. The train station, Brookwood, is approximately one mile from the Camp with at least 3 trains an hour to London.
Shopping There are 2 Spars one in the quartering area and the other on ATC (P). Within the area there is also a Sainsbury’s and Homebase. The nearest Shopping towns are Woking, Camberley, Farnborough, and Guildford.
Eating Out There are numerous restaurants and takeaways with delivery service in the area. Some do deliver to the front gate of ATC (P).

Healthcare ATC (P) Medical Centre can be used by the families as well as ATC staff and recruits. A nurse-run Clinic, Child immunisation, Vaccination and Smoking Cessation clinics are available with an on site pharmacy.
